[Test] SpeedUpTV, accelerator / retarder Video and File Management.

SpeedUpTV is, as its name implies (more or less), a video accelerator for iPhone / iPad, but not only .
We will detail all its many possibilities and its few shortcomings .

- - The home page looks like the sort :
Before you begin, you may have to point out to readers how to make records and / or movies on the application.
The principle is the same as for the VLC media player (unfortunately removed from the appstore).
Connect your device to PC / Mac using the USB cable.
1 - click once on your device.
2 - then Apps
3 - scroll bar straight down to reach the configuration below ( File Sharing ).
4 - Click SpeedUpTV appear to show the window ad-hoc on the right.
5 - click Add and then drag the files directly on the window.
The application is capable (according to the developer) to read the pdf format, doc, xls, ppt, png, gif, jpg, mp4, mov and m4v.
I tested formats doc, docx, xls, xlsx, jpg, mp3 and m4v. Everything works perfectly, both Office files 97 and Office 2007.
- - The option "Documents"
Proceeding as explained above, once you find the files you have put on Itunes directly into your Documents folder without requiring laborious synchronization with iTunes.
you can from here, create your own folders by clicking Add Folder choose whether this file is private or not (we shall see Later this option). You can delete, move or rename files and folders by clicking Edit .
On this page you can open (for viewing only) all your text files, spreadsheets, pdf etc ... videos and music.
For text files, etc. .., there is not much to say except that you can zoom in like we usually do it on a photo with the "pinched .
For video and music files, this application makes perfect sense here.
It recognizes
slightly presentation of the default player of the Iphone, but more elaborate.
top progress bar you is in the length of the movie or song mp3.
button with two arrows at the top right allows a slight zoom on the video. On an mp3, ifyou press the button, your application closes simply, I think this is a bug in the year 2011 ( ;) ).
Bottom left, you see the volume bar that you can operate with the side buttons or a button on the screen.
button AB can store two parts of the movie or music playback and is looped about selected moments.
button just to the right can see your video as a slide separated by a minute each. Convenient to go directly to the location of the movie wanted.
1X The next button allows you to see the read speed of 0.5X (idle) to 2X (accelerated). You get this speed by playing with the scroll bar at the bottom right.
You can also go full screen by tapping the screen with one finger. With two fingers you pause / play. A slide to the right on the screen advance reading 5 seconds (adjustable in option), a slide to the left brings you back 5 seconds (adjustable also separately option).
Option 'Video from Photo Album ":
This option allows you to access the video library to your iPhone (I did not say iPod, injury). You
therefore can play videos through your tour iDevice (well, your iPhone yet because the iPad 2 and its probable camera remains in boxes in Cupertino ;) )
Reading this video looks exactly as explained above.
- - The other two menus are Option and Help.
Help assistance is very succinct resumes how to put files on the application through Itunes.
Option can set some parameters such as set a password and create private folders in which your data, music and videos would be preserved.
pressure then Option / Unlock ask for your password and reveals your hidden folders Ultra Secret Defense :-) .
- - Review of the implementation:
We like:
- The dual purpose file management and media playback.
- The ease of use.
- The speed and fluidity of the shares.
- The speed of synchronization.
- The ability to play videos in the Library (or rather video library).
We like least:
- It does not support DIVX (avi, mpeg etc. ..) as opposed to VLC, it's very unfortunate but it also can be a problem of law (see the removal of the blind ... VLC).
- Language. I am angry with Shakespeare's language, I'm not the only one not? Finally, the menus are still understandable.
- The inability to edit documents, I request may be a little too much there, right?
- The obligation to go through Itunes to put a video into the application, while a direct link to the video iPod would be as well. Mostly it's the same format! .
- The inability to create folders from the PC / Mac and sync type Dropbox locally but would have been wise. Maybe not easy to implement.
- The little bug zoom mp3 that crashes the application.
- The lack of function research "that would be practical if large numbers of files stored.
- - Note: 14 / 20.
This application fulfills its role perfectly. Now he must find a customer. Those who need to speed up or slow down their videos will be conquered by the simplicity of use.
For file management and protection by a password, it is fairly easy to use, but other applications do as well or better (I'll post also very soon test a more complete application).
All that to say that this application does not deserve as high a price, namely € 2.39 (still).
