Today I'll try to dissect the application Dotory Player. Universal application.
This app made me a very good impression, in that it will allow unlucky (not jailbreakeur) who have not had time to download VLC Player before its disappearance from the Store, take advantage of the format on DIVX iDevice them.
But that's not all, this application I liked its ease of wireless transfer of files, not to mention the simplicity of controlling the finger reading his favorite movie (and others).
Getting started:
You will be greeted by the cousin of Tic Tac and its superb LCD and beech, but will soon enter the heart of subject with the screen below:
You will then find in the Downloads tab .
You have the possibility (as I did above) to create folders to organize your files so that you will be able to see this player. I'm talking about photos, videos or audio files. A button on the + give you a menu to reach your goals.

This will allow you to move the file or folder with the function Cut (cut for Francophiles), delete ( Delete ) or rename (Rename ). In short a file organization, we can no longer simple.
There is another way to import (or export) files; and this is my favorite for this application ; can do it wirelessly via a WI-FI. You're with a friend, you want one of these movies / photos / audio or song, well it's possible, click +, then WI-FI Transfer and you get this menu:
It'll just enter the URL listed on the preferred browser (Safari, IE, Chrome, Firefox ... etc) on your PC / Mac to establish a connection between your iDevice (iPhone / iPad because it is an application Universal) and your computer.
And there is only happiness , you can recover your PC / Mac files from your iDevice and vice versa. I tested it for you and it works perfectly and more quickly. A few minutes for a movie of 700 MB.
Now to tab picture :
In this tab, as its name does not indicate, you will find the videos stored in the Library of your original iDevice. You can use your multitasking iappareil;) to take a video and be capable of operating in DOTORY. Simply pressing the circular arrow to refresh the contents will show your new video.
Tab Ipod :
This tab is still a mystery to me, I think being a victim of a "conspiracy / Bug"). I tried everything but nothing works.
short, I think this tab gives us the possibility to view videos stored in our iPod iDevice. It did not work for me, it is perhaps not very serious but isolated.
tab Favorite:
This tab allows you, from the developer, stored in a list, the URL of your m3u type compilations. I could not test for you, but the demo seems to work.
You simply enter the name of your comp and return its URL.
Setting tab (settings):
In this tab, you can change some basic options like ; Moving Time that we will detail later in this test.
There is also a button that displays an outright USE Youtube video. It presents a fun application. Note some of the oversights not least, because there is nothing on the Wi-Fi. This gap is filled if you read this topic. lol
Now we will talk about the main function of a player, ie playing a video.
Once you start a video (landscape mode only), for 5 seconds you will see the bars and sound volume. The latter disappear with a simple click on the screen, if you do not have the patience to wait.

- a click with two fingers on the screen makes the video pause and read,
- function Moving Time allows a slide to the right of an advance 5 seconds (by default, but it is adjustable. cf. Setting) and conversely, a slide to the left, a rollback of 5 seconds.
- Idle function is obtained by a slide with a single finger up and down function and accelerated upward. So you juggle with a speed of 0.1 × (the extreme slow) 2.0X speed (fast extreme).
- this application also manages the subtitles that you can enlarge or shrink the video with slides up or down with two fingers .
is where we appreciate our multitouch device.
We like:
- Support DIVX formats.
- The ability to manage files in USB and WI-FI. (As ++++)
- Simplicity action on video with the slides of one or two fingers (only on videos), and pause with the click of two fingers.
- The ability to play videos but also audio files and photos (very full)
- Support subtitles. And their settings.
- The simplicity of these media files stored in folders and subfolders if necessary.
We like least:
To put something in that category (because we are not in school fans) I will:
- Some bugs are fairly rare crash the application.
- the iPod did not work for me, this may be due to my misunderstanding (or lack) of this function, nobody is perfect.
- The English and Korean on Itunes I was a little disturbed, but we find ourselves very quickly in the menus.
Overall rating: 19/20 (because it is not school fans but the 20 would have been ridiculous)
This application is well worth the € 3.99 that you will pay for a drive that contains the original drive IOS VLC + + functions very practical management of video playback.
Know that there is a free version that I have not tested, for you to see what's missing from this one.
